The Elcano Chair aims to Design and develop a navigation-support infrastructure for large intelligent spaces (e.g. large office buildings) to facilitate the occupational integration of disabled people as well as their autonomy in major infrastructures (airports, train stations, government buildings, etc.).

This infrastructure will enable disabled people to optimize and reduce their movements in those spaces to perform the tasks connected to their activity.

The system will incorporate:

• Intelligent environment information service.
• Multi-mode positioning system.
• Personal navigation device.
