The main goal of MOVI-MAS is adapting the work environment to the people with disabilities, by means of virtual reality. From the building plans, MOVI-MAS allows to make its 3D modeling and simulation, and then detect the difficulties for people with disability. Thus resulting in a new office design to make it more accessible, reallocation of work places and a specific formation plan.
MOVI-MAS may be helpful for people with any kind of disability, though it focuses on people with physical disabilities. Using statistical calculation, the optimal routes for each work place are established. These data also help the system learn from itself and from past experiences, so that it can make predictions and avoid future problems.
On one hand, the simulation can be run previously to the building construction, so that special ramps or reserved spaces could be designed from the beginning. Furthermore, if the property is already built, MOVI-MAS helps to give each person the work place that best suits them and the tasks they must do, and adapt certain places to avoid risky situations. It is also possible to train people with disabilities if an emergency or abnormal situation happens. MOVI-MAS can simulate various situations that may occur in an office work environment, such as a failure of an elevator or an evacuation, and design alternative routes for everyone. These routes would be taken to a training plan so that if any of these were to occur in the real environment, the workers would be ready to face them without problems.
