Indra-Asla Foundation Chair of Research in Information and Communication Technologies at the University of Castilla-La Mancha will provide society and companies with a new tool for streamlining the labour integration of people with disabilities.
A tool that will support the job training and integration project for people with disabilities, contemplated as three potential user types:
- A person looking for training and integration in the job market
- An association that helps people with disabilities integrate into the working world
- An organisation seeking to hire a certain profile or be a training centre
Contacto will provide a series of tools and services to each profile with particular attention given to accessibility and usability of the user interface, which will be rendered efficient and satisfactory for all potential users.
Contacto will be provided in two channels. Firstly, it will operate as a web-based system capable of being accessed from desktop and laptop computers for more the tedious tasks of gathering information or viewing large amounts of data. Secondly, it will also work as an App for mobile devices such as phones and tablets for matters that need to be addressed immediately and require no viewing or handling of large amounts of data.
Both tools will provide a service of alerts, calendar and contact for supporting the monitoring of training processes or performance of a job.
Impact and scope of the project
In general, it will help render a more efficient management of all the processes involved in the labour integration of intellectually challenged people and provide feedback based on the knowledge acquired to help optimise that process and adjust it to the individual needs of each person included in this process.
Regarding the scope of the project, the main goal will be to develop a system that will comprehensively provide support to the different stages of the labour integration process of people with disabilities.
The system will consider three user types (in addition to the system administrator role): candidate, reference association and organisation undertaking the integration.
