The goal of this project has been to develop an innovative unified platform for sensorization, geolocation and real-time guidance, aimed at tracking and monitoring mobility resources, both human and technical.
The core of the project has focused on the development of a unique localization and sensorization engine that is fed, simply put, from a variety of sources such as Bluetooth, GPS, Accelerometer, and so on, to calculate the position of users in an enclosed environment without direct vision of the outside. The purpose of this project is to promote the workplace and social integration of people with disabilities, being able to guide people and facilitate their journey to their desired destination, thus promoting their autonomy. SmartLazarus will be an intelligent platform capable of being powered by multiple technologies to facilitate decision-making, monitor and automatically guide the various resources within an environment, both landline and mobile, including the functionality to create heat maps, which can be used in a wide variety of scenarios, for example, in demographic studies or trend analysis of the individuals registered on the platform. This project has stressed the capability of simply obtaining information from the environment and resources, that is, to perceive the real state of the environment as well as of the people, objects and even processes that are found in that environment. In addition, acting upon these surroundings is a fundamental aspect, for example, to trigger alerts or personalized messages based on the users' location and the detection of possible obstacles.
